SSALT 9870 Dane Co Health Services
Entrance from the West.
Every day I drive past this building. In winter its hill is filled with happy children, sleds in tow; in July it becomes a patchwork of colorful blankets awaiting the display of Rhythm and Booms. Today it’s captured in quietness. Perhaps the same feel as it did almost a century ago.
From 1930 until 1966 it was the Lake View Sanitarium. The large parcel of land was used for walks, plenty of fresh-air, and separation of patients from the public. Now it is a beautiful county park open to the public.
